Tula Rose is about a year and a half old, medium-sized, spayed female, approximately 40 pounds. She has the metabolism, speed and intelligence of an Australian Cattle Dog, the sweetness of a Labrador Retriever, and the clan behavior of a Carolina Dog. We have deemed Tula Rose "Earth Girl." She is at her best--totally uninhibited and free of the shyness that is innate to her personality--when she is flying across the desert mesa as fast as a bird in air. Her desire to chase a rabbit is thrilling because he can challenge her speed like no other creature. She is always excited to discover a lizard under a sage bush even if it just happened yesterday. On these walks, she will check back with you repeatedly to make sure you are on the same path and then launch back into exploring the earth. Happpy, panting, and with tail held high. Once she has welcomed you as a trusted friend, she is affectionate, kissing and seeking pets and rubs . You will almost feel honored that she has let you into her private world and opened her heart slowly but permanently for you. This earth girl is quiet, house-trained, and does exceptionally well with other dogs, so would be fine taking on play dates or to the dog park! Because of her shy and submissive nature, another dog in the home should be one that is happy-go-lucky and not assertive or dominant acting. She does not push her way into anything or onto anyone. She would thrive with person or persons who enjoy daily walks or runs in the beautiful outdoors of New Mexico. Her energy level is good, not out of control, and while she loves her outdoor time with you, she is well-mannered and quiet indoors. Tula wants to be near you so both of you can learn how to love each other more everyday. She requires a steady, daily routine and a predictable, non-frantic environment. Tula Rose is a gorgeous dog who is looking for a gentle and kind human soul who won't rush her into anything new or different. Tula Rose is smart, curious, and perceptive. It may take a couple of weeks to a couple of months for her to get familiar and feel safe in a new home. Tula has human friends who she trusts who will help you with the transition into her new family and environment. The more time you spend together and the more activities you do together, the quicker the bond will be with this precious and exotic Earth Girl.
