PLEASE READ OLLIE'S DESCRIPTION FIRST! The cuteness factor is not all there is to this little guy . . . Ollie is a neutered, male Beagle, Dachshund and Jack Russell Terrier mix a little over a year old. He weighs about 15 lbs. You must be an ACTIVE person and one who can take advantage of his smarts to teach him lots of tricks and have lots of fun. Think of him as the advanced student who would be really bored in general studies! He has a youthful and spunky personality and will probably be that way most of his life. Ollie loves and needs a lot of human interaction and a human who can keep up with him. He loves to play with balls and toys, play fetch, and generally anything you have in mind. He'll take his new "treasures" you give him and hide them in safe places all over the house! Ollie is able to jump high with little effort and enjoys doing so (think Frisbee fun here)!! Ollie is a quick learner--he would be great for someone wanting to start out in agility or flyball. Ollie will delight and surprise you with his curiosity about everything. He looks and explores every inch of his territory and is observant of every movement. Ollie needs to be a huge part of your everyday life. He plays heartily and untiringly with other dogs at the dog park and is a very confident and happy little guy. Ollie is NOT a lap-dog and needs daily playtime with his human, long walks or runs, and frequent visits to the dog park. Apartment-living would not be appropriate for him. He is very affectionate and loves to sleep cuddled up next to you at night. He will come when he's called and looks up to you for his next direction. He is crate-trained and house-trained. Ollie is very social and would do best with a STAY-AT HOME, FREQUENTLY-AT-HOME, or WORK-FROM-HOME person. Ollie is cute as a button and your first inclination may be that he'd be good as your son or daughter's pet. He most likely would not be; Ollie would be more like another child in the house and best with a 'mom' or dad' for himself. A family with a teenager may be okay; young children are not recommended.
